I'd use this book in younger grades, probably kindergaten or first grade to teach about double meaning and how words can have different meanings and that we don't always mean what we say literally. I thought the illustrations in the book were really simple and they weren't really my favorite, but I think younger students would still enjoy them because they're simple and aren't too detailed and confusing. Finally, Miss Emma's guests arrive and they try Amelia's tea cake and love it.
